Rooney scored!

Wayne Rooney has scored his first goal since March. He scored a penalty against West Ham to help Man Utd to a 3-0 win.

The last time he scored for club and country was against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Rooney played 45 minutes in friendly

Wayne Rooney played for the first 45 minutes on his return to action as Manchester United crushed an Airtricity League Select XI 7-1 in Dublin on Wednesday night.

Although he did not score his energy and desire was an display. His link up play with Michael Owens was very encouraging.

New boy Javier Hernandez continue to impress. There is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season.

Rooney failed to impress against Algeria

In fairness, all of the England players played poorly and without a sense of urgency.

But in Rooney much more is expected. He seemed out of position and at times disinterested. He and his teammates were bood at the end of the 0-0 tie with 30th ranked Algeria. Rooney reacted by shouting into a television camera: “Nice to see your own fans booing you. If that’s what loyal support is … for f–k’s sake.”

Wayne Rooney wins Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award

Wayne Rooney topped the poll of journalists with just over 81 per cent of a record number of votes cast, finishing ahead of Chelsea forward Didier Drogba and Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez to win the prestigious accolade, which has been running since 1948.

Wayne Rooney is the PFA player of the year

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was voted the Professional Footballers’ Association player of the year. In the votes he came out on top ahead of  Didier Drogba, Carlos Tevez and Cesc Fabregas.

Rooney, 24, said: “It’s a great feeling to win because it’s voted for by the players. It’s a great honour and I’m really proud.”

Rooney scored in win over Liverpool

Wayne Rooney’s penalty kicks was saved by Reina but he got the rebound from which he scored against Liverpool. Rooney and Park Ji Sung ensured Man Utd claim all 3 points after Torres gave Liverpool the lead in the 5th minute. Manchester United won at Old Trafford 2-1.

This win ends Liverpool’s 3-game win streak over their bitter rival. United’s Nemanja Vidic completed the game without a red card, having been dismissed in each of the three previous encounters against Liverpool.

Rooney puts 2 past Fulham

Rooney scored two goals during a 3 – 0 thrashing of Fulham at Old Trafford. He has now scored 25 goals in the Premier League and 32 in all competition and closes in on Ronaldo’s feat of 42 goals last season.

Rooney scored 2 against West Ham

Wayne Rooney produced another match-winning performance for Manchester United as he took his tally for the season to 27 by netting 2 goals against West Ham.

Rooney helped Man United thrash Portsmouth 5 – 0

Wayne Rooney collected the Player of the Month (January) award before the match against Portsmouth at Old Trafford. He then set off on a quest for another Player of the Month award by scoring the first goal in a 5 – 0 thrashing of Portsmouth.

Rooney scored his 100th Premier League goal against Arsenal

Wayne Rooney and Nani were in brilliant form today as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3 – 1 at the Emirates. Rooney was set up by Nani for the second goal of the match and his 100th Premier League goal.

Wayne Rooney’s first Premier League goal was also scored against Aresenal while playing for Everton.
